If there are no broken stans, there will be when you begin using it. It takes a lot of them before the cable is weakened to the point it can't be trusted. Do the following:
- Any place that specializes in selling cable also sells cable lube (penetrates and protects)
- BUY A PAIR OF LEATHER CABLE MITS TO USE WHEN SPOOLING THE CABLE AND MAKE SURE YOU 20 FEET AWAY FROM THE WINCH IF YOU'RE WINCHING CABLE YOURSELF. YOU NEED THAT DISTANCE IF A STRAN PENETRATES YOUR HAND TO FREE YOURSELF. Don't want to get rapped around the winch with the cable!
