I didn't say that Leno said it just that it was on Leno.
It is sad that folk don't understand that you can't "civilize the wild places" If you did they wouldn't be wild any more. I still maintain that if you want things to be they way they were "back home" then move back home.
Many of the Western states still have huge parts of them that are untamed and wild but more and more of these trails are having fences put up by the forest service and you have to get access code in order to get in.
I tried a while back to go down a trail that I used to go down when I was still in high school and I got there and they had the darn thing blocked off with huge boulders. I tried to crawl over them but they were just over four feet high and I believe that they were sunk into the ground as well. I tried to push one of them with the tree killer but it wouldn't budge.
I will admit that I do practice a bit of conservationism myself, stay on trails make sure fires are out that kind of thing, but this is a bit to far in my book.
I can't imagine why anyone goes out just looking to mess up stuff but I have seen folk do that. I was taught to go out and enjoy your surroundings not to slash and burn them. If we all were good about following the pratice of staying on trails and not going out to wreck stuff then I think the conservationists would give us a bit more slack.

I'll be the first to admit I have had instances were I unintentionally knocked over trees and brush and stuff. I have also every once in awhile pushed over rocks and moved things but It is usually to get out of sticky situations.
Well sorry about the rant but I had to get it off my chest.
