Personally I have no need for a dueled PW. I showed the image of the duel wheel bolted onto the out side wheel to show how close it would be on the tires as it is. This would be to close for regular use. It may work in an emergency on sand or something. Not the way I would run. Spacing the wheel would help but that does not really solve things over all.

If I thought I had good reason and absolutely had to have a duel set up on the rear I would put four of these dual 16" Budd wheels on by using the WC ½ ton or early WC ¾ ton backing plate, drums and shoes as they are a bolt on and use the stock PW hubs and bearings. This would also place the center load of the wheels and hub/bearings in the best axle position. Keeping the front wheels stock would "kind of" track them center between the rears. I haven’t ever set one up this way but it seems straight forward and simple.

Sure you would loose a little brake power on the rear axle. You got to give up something, but it is all together easy and a bolt up. Simple to do and right. Fix the loss of brakeing power by adding a hydravac booster to the system. I haven't tested it out but one might also replace the rear wheel cylinder with slightly larger brake cylinder. Maybe a cylinder from the PW. This would affect the master cylinder some so it would need testing. Also you could add a proportioning valve. Or spend some money and do the disk brake set up on the front. In the end just by adding the hydravac you would wind up with better brakes.

If your set up has good reason and is properly set up (KISS) a dualed PW would look and work real good. Maybe not all stock but an all stock parts set up.

Trippin.........
