Guys:

We've had more heart to hearts about this than I care to remember. I'm tired of beatin a dead horse. The tasks I give him are gauged to his abilites, not mine. He has a crappy work ethic. That's partially my wife and my fault.

All his life, he'd wait until the last minute to do something (school work for example), and then his Ma or I would jump in and help, bailing him out. He had a project that if not completed, he wouldn't have graduated grade school. There I am, for the 2 days before it was due, working on it til 1 AM and I get up at 3 AM.

I told him it ain't gonna happen no more. I told him I love him but, I ain't gonna do his homework for him, and if his Ma does, I'm history. The party is over. Like I said before, I've asked if he wants out. I told him it's okay, I won't get pissed.

For now, he'll do just gopher work. If he wants to learn, cool. If he wants to try, cool too. I was gonna teach him how to weld. Not now, but maybe later, if he SHOWS me he's willing to work at it. The ball is in his park now.

He's already bugging me for a car. I told him we're poor, and if he wants one, he'll have to build it. He thought that was cool. We'll see, cause I sure as hell ain't gonna buy him one. I tell him talk is cheap, it don't mean a thing, it's what ya do that counts. Again, we'll see.

later
Ugg
