Hey:
Trying like a madman to get the Beast ready for the show in Volo this weekend. I've already excepted the fact that our goal of the bodywork being completed and the Beast painted for the show WILL NOT HAPPEN. We won't even be close. Okay, so it'll go as a work in progress, I can live with that.
Still, it needs to be able to make it there under it's own steam. It's not running yet. There are some electrical issues that need to be dealt with. Then, if I get it running, it has to be street legal, as some of the towns I will drive thru are sticklers for that kinda thing.
Thing is, I can only do so much work in a day as I am limited physically. My son Maynard (as in Maynard G. Krebs) can't seem to get the concept of time thru his rather thick skull. He's 14. Typical of kids his age and of his generation, he expects instant gratification and knowledge. The concept of "Crawlin before ya walk" is foreign to him.
Working with him is NOT a pleasure, but a task. I feel like a dentist pulling teeth to get him to do anything. BTW, we got into this project as a father/son thing, not a father thing. Most of our time was lost in me trying to get him to just DO something, let alone doing it good.
As it stands at this point in time, I don't know if I'll even be able to get the Beast running, let alone running safely. Then there's the matter of reinstalling the disassembled parts. We only have X amount of time to work on the Beast, which is even more limited due to my lovely neighbor Cunswaylow.
We had the cops over yesterday morning at 9 AM (not the 1st time either), because she called complaing about the noise. We hadn't even started working yet, and only had the radio on in the yard. She calls anubody you could think of to try and get us in trouble.
She's called animal control sayin we were abusing our dogs (who get better care than me) and even called the cops sayin we were abusing our kids. Both unfounded. I'm sure that one day she'll call Homeland Security sayin I'm a terrorist doin some biologial thing when I pass gas in the yard.
