Hi Brian,
I didnt have any problems with it hitting the timing chain cover. I will look this afternoon and see if I can see anything on mine. Can you post a photo of where yours is hitting?
The picture Norm posted shows the big curved original front mount, which is removed and replaced with Rays mount.
