Well Bob what I would do is somehow get to Rt 10 in Southington, or something else more west but there's hills. Anyway Rt 10 through Farmington, Avon, (now Rt 10-202) Simsbury, Granby, Southwick MA to Westfield MA. Then when 202 goes east across a big mountain into Holyoke, I go straight north on 10 through Easthampton into Northampton. Watch out for peace demonstrations in Northampton. Once I drove my M37 right through one beeping my horn. Needless to say I didn't get any salutes like you do in Webster MA. Anyway then pick up Rt 5 all the way to Rockingham VT where you can pick up Rt 103 which is at Exit 6 on 91. It's the perfect road for that kind of drive. Only hills in VT are in Brattleboro and Putney, but not too bad. We could meet for coffee in Granby but you'll be there at 5 am, too early. I bet I'll pass you on Rt 103 in Chester VT. Be safe.
