OT (not about AZ)

Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do about my Farmall steering wheel? The tractor lives outdoors, and the steering wheel has become severely oxidized, to the point where my hands look like a coal miner's after I'm done driving it.

Is there a chemical product for this application that will clean and polish it? Or at least clean it? Do I need to start looking for a NOS one?

Thanks in advance for any input. I have already received a suggestion from She-who-must-be-obeyed simply to wear gloves, but that's just too weird. I like to be intimately involved with my tractor, and gloves would lessen the sensitivity, if you know what I mean.
