Keith,
I wasn't able to attend the Williams event, but I did see some pictures and would like to have been there. Having organized a few things in my life, I know how much work is involved that few people see or appreciate. The first running of any new event is often a bit rough, sometimes more of a mess, ocassionally even an unmitigated disater. But the point is that you had the guts to do something, and I think that you deserve credit for that. Of course the head honcho always takes the heat when things go wrong, even when he doesn't get paid a dime. I've had my share of problems organizing Cowboy Action Shooting matches and Search and Rescue trainings - so be it.
I think that an Arizona Rally is a good idea, our state has a lot to offer to 4x4 types - miles of dirt, sand, rivers, lakes, and even a bit of mud once in awhile. Not to mention nice temps in the dead of winter. I think that there are a lot of great possibilities, and I am sure that the next one will apply the lessons learned this year. So don't give up, this is a good thing and worth doing.
