Turn Signal and Brakelight Problem

Thursday night I was driving my truck and the left turn signal went whacky. Then my wife noticed my left brake light was out this morning (I hadnt driven it since Thursday). By whacky, I mean that instead of it showing the steady blink, blink, blink, it was blinking very fast on my dashboard, but not illuminating in my left rear taillight.

I don't know if the two items are related but I suspect so. I checked the turn signal fuse #1 and #13 "Stop lamps, center high mount stop lamp..." and both appeared good.

The truck is a 2001 Ford F-250 so I'm hoping that someone can point me to the appropriate forum or help me identify the problem.

PW Content: I use this truck to tow a car dolly which pulls my 48 cycle fendered power wagon, down the highway at excessive speeds while wearing my .45 colt in plain view making sure my coat doesnt obscure it, all while being chased by the SIBTA Rodent mitigation officer, while on my way to the proper truck tire center to ensure proper tire mounting.
