If the tire buster can be talked in to even getting that close to a split rim.

If the tires are stuck, have him break the back side first, then the upper side.

An alternatative DIY is to slide the rim under the bumper, and use a jack to squish the tire.

Or use a mattock (pick?- the one oriented like a hoe) that has been ground rounded. Grind the spike end rouned too, or watch for bounce back.

I've also broken regular wheels down by laying them on the liftgate of my pick-up, and "lifting" them upwards against the drop hitch. Maybe I'll try it on the next split rim. Or those LAV runflats...I ought to make a 'shoe' to fit the rim, in place of the ball...

A back hoe ought to work good, or maybe one of the outriggers?
