If we forget to keep our children educated It may become known as the Vietnam Weekend Excursion. The text books that my kids have for public school don't mention alot of things that were a big part of our nations history and formed a large part of the laws that we abide by and make our foriegn policy with the guidelines from history.
I asked the teacher why in the history book it never even mentioned the Monroe Doctrine. Her answer "What is the Monroe Doctrine?" I gave her the quick and dirty version and she said "I have never heard that before. Where did you learn that from?"
Sad but true. She is 22 and just graduated from the big ol ASU. I was very shocked.
