I just left the tire shop after replaceing 5 of the six wheels for my van (four on the ground and two spares) and while I was there I was flipping thru an older 4x4 magazine. It had the cover torn off so I didn't get the name but one of the articles was about the best stock fourwheel drives in the world. #1 was the range rover it went on and on about how it is found in more countries and used by more blah blah blah blah whatever. #2 was the Dodge Power Wagon. The article said there was never a tougher truck right out of the factory that was ever made in the USA. It went on to say that even the mighty bummer has had to have modifications to get them up to snuff with the horsepower and torque that PW had comming out of the factory. The author said pound for pound it is the most reliable thing to ever come out of a american factory and the only reason it wasn't #1 was due to the fact that there were simply more rovers built, sold, and still in use then any other truck on the planet if not for that reason then the PW would be number one.
I kinda paraphrased but that was the jest of what he said in the article. If I find the name and month I will try to let all of you know.
