Wow!! that looks a lot like the san juan mountians in southern CO. Don't see to much of that stuff in KS now do you?? One time me and Eric B. took my truck and trailer across KS to get a winch it looked like it would be a few hours by the map and many many hours later it looked like we were in the same spot!!! I was driving with my very heavy right foot and all we saw was rows of corn and wheet. Hours latter I asked Eric B do you think we are any closer he said the map says we are but the corn and everything else looked the same.

Then there was another time we took his truck and trailer to get a 59 W100 for me and I was driving his rig. I asked him if this felt like old times and he said sure looks like the same road even though we both knew we where several hundred miles from where we were the first time. I had to start driving with my very heavy right foot again. I had all 215 ponies under the hood running against their governors!!

Anyway that is the only way to get across KS is with a very heavy right foot. I used to think I would only drive like that on flat ground. Until one time I was going over a fairly steep windy mountains pass with no guardrail and a steep drop off and met up with a semi and we both shared what it would be like to go over the side. Until he pointed out to me that you know when you are in BFE!! KS and you are going well over the speed limit just to get it over with, how many times do you go off the road?? Well we both thought about it and I have never been off the road whether I was on a moutain pass or flat KS. I guess you will get used to driving in whatever your surroundings are.
