if you plan on driving the truck on the open road a lot, 16 inch wheels would seem to be a better choice than the 17.5s.
I bet that MOST TIRE SHOPS are not going to have anything in stock, and this could be a real problem if you were out on the road and had a blowout.
You could be out-of-town for days trying to find a 17.5 tire. Easier to get going again with 16 inchers.
