I'm not a lawyer but I've worked with many (unfortunately) and have had many law courses. What I learned is that it's all a word game. To-MA-to or To-Mah-to. Now if your just helping a friend out and he happens to kick in for fuel and maybe some meals, your not for hire, but ya still need to be covered with enough insurance.
