I can only speak for my own Insurance. My Insurance on my Ram 2500 also covers all my trailers, but NOT the loads. My home owners will cover some stuff I may carry on my trailers, but NOT Vehicles, Boats etc. as an example, if I go and pickup a PW which I just bought, that PW MUST have its own insurance, for loss. If I have an accident and have a loss, with no insurance on that vehicle, I am on my own.
I can haul a friends truck on my trailer since the trailer is covered by my Ram insurance, however the friends truck must have its own insurance or in a loss, he is on his own, and I 'could' have a huge problem if he decide to come after me for his total loss. And if I haul someone elses truck, I can accept no compensation of any kind whatsoever. Accept compensation, even a lunch and I am then considered a business.
I really perfer not to load someone elses truck on my trailer, but in a pinch I will, if I am SHOWN actual insurance for loss on that vehicle.
