coil- or -point problem

simple question i hope. i have a 251 and i have lost spark . i replaced the points and condencer.i still have no spark. i have power going into the coil should i have power going out the other side or is that a ground. i took a screw driver and moved the points open and closed and not a spark there either. it ran fine about a month ago.i also have a spark checker that goes in between the plug and wire. still no spark any sugestions. THANKS Howard
