do you have any manuals? The TM 9-1808B? It is a WW2 WC manual That has great views of gears in the up to type. I tried to post from an adobe file but no luck. the tapered edge is quite extreme even on a good gear. Straight cut gears last and last. one reason is they do not have the sideways forces on them like helical cut gears which are always trying to push themselves apart.
