You have my sincere deepest sympathy. I can't say I know how you feel but I know what you are going through. We lost our son to cancer on July 9th 2002.
There is nothing anyone can do or say to stop the hurting right now. You literally have to face life one day at a time.
Be there for your wife and kids, especially the kids, they may not show it but they are hurting so much also.
They told us at the time of our sons death that the death of a child causes many marriages to break up. Fortunately for me, my wife and I are also best friends so that has been a big help in our grieving process.
Some days will be better than others. Some days are just pure misery, especially around this time of year. Some days it helps to go off by yourself and have a good cry. I wish I had some magic formula to help you but I don't. Be kind to your wife and kids, your good day might be their bad day or visa-versa.
Keep your faith in God and just know that you and your family will be in my prayers forever.
