Thanks, Gordon. I'll try that too. BTW - at this point, everything's been stripped off the frame except the rear springs ... planning to undo other people's modifications, strip and clean the frame, and have it powdercoated.
My main concern is the brackets and shackles. If I have to I can either find replacement pins or have new ones made. However, replacing the brackets and shackles would be more of a challenge.
As far as I can tell, previous owners were relying on the 37 year old grease to continue doing it's job ... <heavy sigh> The bushing are definitely in need of replacement, although I also want to have the springs professionally checked to make sure they're still up to spec's.
