A few years ago I got $200 worth of skyrockets, mortars, and such from some Indians in trade for some furniture I was selling in a yard sale. It was the end of the sale and I wanted rid of the furniture, otherwise I'd never spend real money on fireworks. I had some friends over at my cabin and was shooting the skyrockets off. One of them went totally sideways, across the river, and into the brush at the bottom of a steep south-facing hillside before it went off spewing sparks all over. Luckily the woods weren't extremely dry yet, but if it had started a fire, it would have gone up that hillside and been 10 acres in dry lodgepole pine before I could even across the river, and would have gone clear to the top of the mountain before anybody could do anything about it. After that, no more skyrockets in the woods for me, except maybe on New Year's when everything's covered with snow.
