Whatever you do, get the quote in writing and keep a copy. One of my friends is in a dispute currently over shipping a used Tommy Lift. He had sent them a photo of the palletized load and the weight and they quoted one amount and then when it was delivered the freight had doubled in cost. Actually, the weight was about 400 lbs lighter than he told them and they more than doubled the freight cost, when it was all said and done. This is from one of the prominent freight carriers in the NW.
