Eastwood and Harbor Freight have left twist drill bits for use with a reversible drill. I've had good luck with them on large and small machine screws or bolts. Most times the imbedded end will back out and I don't have to retap the threads. And the worst case is I have a hole to insert an ez-out. Just keep the bits free of penetrating oil. The bit generates some heat. Stop frequently to let things cool. The heat/cool cycle seems to help free up the threads. After the bit is started, use low speed to help the bit "catch" the screw/bolt.
