I also am working on my first M-37. I have a very interesting source of information on M-37's. My source is Mr. Brown. He Hauled weapons with his in WWII. The stories that that man can tell, and he loves to tell them. He also has an M-37. Anyway, about the B1. Mr. Brown says, the only difference is the bend in the stick shift lever. The first M-37 of the line had the shift lever hitting the dash when you shifted into 1st or 3rd gears. The solution was to bend the shaft and give the model number a B1. I don't know if this is completely true but that is what he said and he knows more about them than I do. Good luck with your M-37. By the way, have you ever rebuilt the original flat head 6?
