Some of them moved about a lot. Some equipment was brought back from Europe and Canada for re-conditioning for use in other theatres of conflict, and the Signal Corps image site has shots of this (I posted the fresh Carryall 'cause it's my favourite)
Towards the end of hostilities the interest in moving equipment about fell off sharply, and it was disposed of wherever it was so that shipping facilities could be used to bring people home.
I would think a fairly small proportion of vehicles were returned, though, maybe a few percent.
