I'm not an expert at towing. But the friend who towed my WC is an electrical engineer who builds satellite electronics and is a confirmed engineering geek. When he was younger, he towed duallies and other rather large loads using a semi. With his Suburban, he made towing the WC, on the biggest trailer we could find, look like child's play in the tight corners and steep hills near San Fancisco.
I asked him if he had any secrets to towing.
Two, he said.
Patience and practice.
I've since managed to wrassle a few ungainly vehicles around, and keeping his advice in the back of my head made things a lot easier. Especially patience.
