Dodge used to make a EGR cover plate for the engines on larger trucks that were not emission controlled. It was merely a flat plate the same size as the EGR valve base and perhaps 1/4" thick. I installed this under the EGR valve thus deactivating it, but since the valve was visually intact and connected, the inspection staions never caught it [They didn't do emissions checks].As I recall, the truck definitely ran stronger and got better mileage.
