Converting 1951 early model M37 to 12 volts for daily driver reliability.
Distributor: Can civilian 6-volt be just "dropped in" and used with 12 volts? Converted to solid-state? What are NAPA numbers? Other?
Coil: What matches? Resistors or other modifications needed?
Starter: I understand that a Dodge 6 volt civilian starter can be just bolted in and operated on 12 volts with no problems, it just turns over a lot faster. True? NAPA part numbers? There is also supposed to be a Ford 12 volt starter that just bolts in. Any info? Other easy options?
Plugs: What heat range standard sparkplugs fit? Want to eliminate military plug wires and use off-the-shelf components.
Gauges: Most of my gauges don't work and will be replaced anyway. Any modern 12 volt ones that look like the original military?
Alternator: Planning to use simple GM one-wire.

What else have I forgotten/overlooked? Suggestions? THANKS !!!
