Steve the first thing I did was to buy a book called "How To Do Electrical Systems" from Classic Motorbooks. (a very good book) Then I wint to the auto parts store and bought a alt. for a 78 Chevy truck, then I put a one wire kit in the alt. that I got from JCWhitney. The one wire kit is optional, it just makes it eazer to wire up. Just today I started makeing the bracket out of 1/4" plate.
I am changing my truck from 6volt pos. ground to 12vold neg. The truck had no oreginal wires left to speak of so I am building a new harness from scratch.
