The cost of a brake set shipped to the east coast is $395 + $55 shipping + $30 to ship the old hubs back to me. Although the calipers cost $50 loaded (including core charge) and the South American rotors are $50 I get mine from the local NAPA for $33 each in quantities of 4 or more. So if you are doing 4 wheels at once or you and a friend are doing conversions at the same time Even NAPA will give a good discount if you whine enough! BTW 2 NAPA stores wouldn't do this for us but a 3rd one does so shop around. Concerning proportioning valves. If you go to our web site there is an article under hydraulics on the disc brake menu that explaines the function of the various valves as they relate to the older Dodge trucks. The basic rule is if you have front discs and rear drums you don't need a proportioning valve, any other setup (4 drums or 4 discs you do). You can order "the Brake Handbook" by Fred Puhn from Amazon.com for $13.95 and learn more about brakes than you ever wanted to know.
