I used to have the same problem. I have had for the last 8 years or so a larger comperessor. It
has a 2 stage air pump, and a 80 gallon tank.
I can go a good 5 minutes at least before it begins to get low enough in pressure that I need
to stop and let it pump up again. By that time
I'm ready for a break or need to refill the sand pot anyway. The compressor pumps up to 160 lbs,
then shuts off. I think I have it set to turn on
and start pumping at about 80lbs. You should be
using a pressure sandblast pot, not a siphon type.
they are much more heavy duty, and can push the sand better. I picked the one up I have at a
swap meet, new, for about 120 bucks. A 2 stage
80 gallon compressor is in the range of 1000 bucks new, but well worth it if you have a lot
of sandblasting, especially heavy rust.
