It's a normal pipe plug. 1/8"NPT. You can get it at the local hardware store for about half a buck.
I overfill mine a bit, so when winching, the lube will slowly leak out of the spindle shaft providing a free lube job on the sliding dog clutch.
The grease fitting is to insure that the U joint yoke won't rust onto the shaft, so the shear pin can do it's work and shear under an overtorque.
Put a new zerk on, and it may take lube. Use a grade 2 bolt as the shear pin. Nothing stronger.
You also may want to use a sulphur additive gear lube for helping that big expensive brass gear in the winch.
