I do not know very much about the Dodges from 1972 up to 1993. I realize there were similar models from 1972 to 1980, and then from 1981 to ???? I do not know when the series began that looked like the last built before the current Ram. I am asking this group because I suspect there are many folks here who own trucks from 1972 to 1993.
I am soliciting comment regarding the significant changes that occurred in this era (1972-1993), what your opinions are regarding these trucks, what you like about them, etc.
Things I am curious about include changes in divorced transfer to a transfer attached to the transmission, what years used the NP205, when the full time trucks (no lockouts) were produced, and what you think were the particular strengths and weaknesses of any of them.
The reason I am curious about all this is that I am thinking about looking for a 1 ton from this era, and am trying to learn what would be the one(s) to look for.
