so I looked at his auctions and he's the guy that had a parts truck I was interested in a while back. Nobody bid on it, so I emailed him and said I'd be interested in taking a look at it and give him his price if it was what I wanted. He emailed back and said he'd scrap it for the starting price he put on it, and if I wanted to buy it it'd be twice the starting price he had on ebay. He didn't put a reserve on it on ebay, and I got the distinct impression that if I had "won" it for the starting price he'd have come up with some way to break off the deal. Being as how he's on Vancouver island, and the rig would need towing a long ways, on the ferry and through Canada, I wasn't going to risk going all that way and have him jack me around some more. He might be an okay guy if you're there in person doing a cash deal and hauling it off then and there, but to put something on ebay for a certain price, have it get no bids, and then say you'd only sell it for twice that price seems strange to me.
