We were the only ones to attempt the obstacle called the Frame Twister (that I saw), and made it through just fine, with the exception of ripping my taillights off. I did'nt bother with the mudpit since the M-37/Jackass crew had that all sewn up and I dont think a 230 powered vehicle can spin the tires fast enough to float across it.
The staircase obstacle is not even a challenge with the locker.
We tried a few different obstacles out on the trails with the locker on and off, and with the swivel frame locked out to simulate straight frame characteristics.
All I can say is the limiting factor to traction was the tires. I run 11.00-16 XZL's at first with 35 PSI, then went down to 15 psi. We'd get to places where we were just spinning both back wheels and one front in loose gravel or sand. Dan should have some good pictures of a couple of different obstacles that we could'nt make it up without the locker.
The locker itself performed flawlessly. I left it engaged most of the time while just driving around to see if anything would let go and it did'nt. With the design of the locker itself I think the weak point in the driveline will be the axles themselves, then the yokes. The great thing about the airlocker is that when it is'nt needed for road use, you just flip it off, and your back to stock open differentials.
