George:

I take it you have a Gen 2 D. IMHO, they are more car like than truck. I have a Gen 1 D. It's my 3rd. I was towing my back hoe with my 99 D when the trailer tire blew. I hit the trailer brake which caused me to jacknife. We did a 180 and were doin good until we hit the curb, which took us airborne.

I had a pintel hook set up, so the trailer stayed hooked up as it started to roll. We rolled over twice. My passenger (who was not wearing his belt) was flung out the window, where the D landed on top of him, but the suspenion held up (I had built it up for towing) and he wasn't touched.

Because of it's crashworthiness, I got my new D. I tow a 26' travel trailer with it with no trouble what so ever. However, I live in the flatlands. I have no idea how it'll deal with mountains, but the hills I have encountered were a breeze. Ya can't even tell your pullin somethin. Again though, my suspension is built up for towing, and I have a Gen 1 D, not the streched out overglorified mini van Gen 2.
