In my mis-spent youth I drove Porsches. One was the poor man's version, the 914. It would stall out (loose fuel injection power) while idling, and run perfectly at speed.

After replacing $1800 worth (1980 dollars...approximately three million in today's money) of electrical parts, including the entire primitive electronic fuel injection computer, The trouble was traced to a dirty fuse holder, within the engine compartment. It was the only fuse NOT on the fuse block under the dashboard.

When the engine idled, the fuse would jiggle around. When being driven hard, the torque would move the fuse in the holder, and juice would flow.

It took "only" three or four weeks of constant testing and fretting to find it.
