I bought a trailer from a guy who was the original owner but could not find the title or id number. It had been in several wrecks and had multiple parts replaced over the years when I got it from him. When I went down to register it they wouldn't let me even after I told them the truth (that story)
So I told them I built it from several different trailers and even showed them some of the welds he did that he never ground to make them look smooth. So I fibbed and they believed it and gave me a id number-stamped it into the tongue-and gave me a certificate of ownership and the new Id number. I paid for the registration and drove it home and still use it today.
So sometimes a little white lie can do where the truth won't. Sad But true
