Steering Shaft length

I'm using Ray's kit to put powersteering on the Carryall and turned down the shaft tonight to accept the u-joint. Ray's instructions said to cut the inner shaft 31 1/2" long unless you want more leg room. Before I cut it I was wondering what length others ended up with.
