Cab to frame mounts

Having just mocked up my truck I have found that in order for the body to line up properly with the hood etc. the cab had to be put on 2 1/2 inch mounts. I see in the books and literature that the original mounting pads were a quarter inch thick. The manual shows a leveling device with tspring in three corners of the cab for leveling. Not sure why my truck requires 2 1/2 inch pads but it works out well with the rest of the body line up and with the throttle linkage. Anyideas why this might be?
