I just happen to have here all three VC military manuals for the three production batches. Nice to have, but not a lot of use. I have the parts manual too which is a little better, but then most of it is covered in the Master Parts List which any Dodge military truck owner of the 39-47 series should have anyway.

Practically EVERY VC military part is different from the WC or civilian VC equivalent in some way.

Cab has screen swivels and rear grille.
Fender cutouts are different / bigger all round, plus spare wheel recess on right rear.

WC half ton transmission and front axle casing were commonly swapped on, which you can do if you fit the VC transmission top and axle ends / hubs.

As a result most VC's out there are mongrels of some kind. My VC 3 has a WC transmission and front axle and the wrong engine, but I have all three original parts here if I ever get round to fitting them.

A VC 3 is actually the easiest truck to assemble out the lot. VC Command Cars tend to be chopped (ask Jeff...) missing seats, hood frame, and tired floors. VC open cab pickups tend to have been re-cabbed with closed cabs (farmers aren't a silly as soldiers )

So a VC closed cab pickup is fairly easy to rebuild. You can use civilian cab, fenders, bed panels, etc as a base, but virtually everything has to be altered in some way.
