NP435 input shaft

I am looking at doing a conversion and have the hydro bellhousing and I have a dual pto np435. The 435 is of the 23 spline variety. If the input shaft is long enough I could use it with the correct clutch disk, but I think it will be too short. If I find an earlier 64-68 435 input shaft will it swap into the later 435 with 2 pto openings? Right now I'm not concerned with the output side.
