just opened the forum and saw "spar varnish" I have an old wooden trawler that docks year round on vancouver island (canada, eh) and the fishermen (they seem to be in the know) use sikkens cetol, a clear finish. I've used it for 10 years and it works. experimented with the most expensive and the cheapest spar varnishes and they do not hold up.
any one else use sikkens?
