You know I have that information.....just giving you a hard time!;^)

I will have to dig through my books, but I am not fully convinced that the letter at the end of the part number has that much meaning. I have information only up through 1952, so if you have found generators from 52 through 56, they probably will not be listed there.

Just at a glance, it looks like your GGW-6001J falls in line with the 45 amp GGW-6001A used on '49-'50 Power-Wagons and the 35 amp GGW-6001B used on '50-'56 Power-Wagons, only newer. But, you would think if it were newer it would be a 12-volt model. Your GGW-6001A should be correct for the '49-'50 Power-Wagon, but the part number is off by about 60 numbers. I have found it not unusual for the Dodge part numbers listed in the Auto-Lite books to be a little off from the part numbers for the same items listed in the Dodge Parts books. But, they are usually only off by one or two numbers which seemed to indicate a change in numbering assignment to indicate a supplier assembly. I.E.: Dodge generator number 1257 392 might show up in the Auto-Lite service manuals as Dodge part number 1257 393. Maybe something to do with purchasing?

Also your GDZ-4801-C is real close to the 35 amp GDZ-4801R used on Power-Wagons from 46-49.

Enough guessing. I will see what the manuals tell me.

Junior
