My second Power Wagon was a tow truck. It was a 55, purchased by the company I got it from in 57. They built the towing rig and used it for about 30 years. When I got it she was pretty tired and very modified to meet their needs. They still tell me stories about pulling this or that truck out of the ditch or that wreck out of a gully etc. etc. Companys probably didnt bother much with the 2wd Dodges when there were real 4wd trucks available.
