inner tube valve stems

Just got my inner tubes for my 11.00 16 xzl tires and the valve stems are about two inches longer than the original is there any way to shorten them or replace them? They look like they are made of brass and have a nut attached at the base.Any help wood be appricated. Thanks Milo
