Steven was talking about threading something into the hole atop the #6 cylinder that normally has a little pipe plug in it, not about using one of those spark plug adapters. It seems to me that this method would essentially pump exhaust gas into whatever is attached to that hole. The peak pressure would be very high because a normal fuel/air combustion would take place. I can see how there could potentially be problems, but it could also be really handy, at least on our old flat 6s the have the tapped hole. I think it would be an interesting experiment. There would need to be a decent receiver tank to even out the pulsations, and probably enough of a restriction in the line to ensure normal combustion without the flame going right up the line. If it was done right, you might even still get some power out of that cylinder. One big advantage over the spark plug adaptor is that you could simply install a valve to shut it off during normal operation. Of course it would have to be a valve that could take 150 psi at fairly high temperatures (no plastic seals).
