Dave, I can't help, but I hear you. A modern tach scaled up to 8-10,000 rpm wouldn't move much with a flathead! Not vintage styeld, but I got a tach from good old JC Whitney that only goes up to 4,000 rpm. I figure the needle will actually move on that one.
