I became unglued? You are quite the funnyman. ;) You stated your opinion. I stated mine. You seem to be reading quite a bit of emotion into my posts. It's an easy mistake since you don't know me, and can't see my face, but it's still a mistake. Just because people disagree with doesn't mean they're emotionally charged basket cases.
The "unrelated tangent" was simply a reference to how even something as simply as owning an old truck is a politically charged act, whether you like it or not. There are people who are working quite diligently at ways to curtail and even stop people from using, oe even owning pre-emission vehicles. To them, you and I are eco-criminals dooming the planet. Knowledge of their efforts is vital for people who like old trucks. That's a simple, cold fact. I'm not "jumping up and down, screaming at the top of my lungs, raising my blood pressure crazy" while I'm typing, nor even "unglued". Just simply stating what I see as facts.
That quote was using "you" in the general sense, not referring to "you" in the specific, although if you feel you've been sticking your head in the sand you can apply it your situation. If you don't feel like you are, don't.
I'm not looking for an arguement, nor am I wanting to debate this. I feel you made your point clearly. That's all I was attempting to do.
Communication seems to be very hard over the internet. Many visual cues we humans use to determine others emotional states are not evident, which leads to many a fight that didn't need to be fought. I chose to believe this is one of those times. I chose to believe (simply because you like old Dodges) that you're a reasonable fellow that happens to disagree over a point with me. I hope you'll feel the same about me. We may be able to help one another later with some old truck knowledge.
By the way if anything I said did offend you, I apologize. That was not my intent. I tend to forget the facts about internet communication and assume that people know where I'm coming from.
Now, back outside to work on the kids playset.
